City X Project a Participant at Maker Faire Bay Area 2013

Our team is excited to be selected to participate in the Maker Faire Bay Area 2013 at the San Mateo Event Center in San Mateo, CA, on May 18-19. We’ll also be presenting!

Why us? Well, last year’s Maker Faire featured Adam Savage of MythBusters, fire arts, lock-picking workshops, and a live Coke Zero and Mentos performance, so you could say the event rather caters to a playful, hands-on crowd. As we bring 3D printers into elementary school classrooms for kids to explore new outlets for creativity and problem-solving, we like to think of ourselves as hands-on learners too, which is why we can’t wait for this event. And I, personally, have yet to see the live, orchestrated dropping of Mentos into Coke bottles outside of YouTube.

Maker Faire describes itself this way:

Maker Faire is the Greatest Show (and Tell) on Earth—a family-friendly festival of invention, creativity and resourcefulness, and a celebration of the Maker movement.
